Dear Taylor

April 20th, 2007

I hope that you will excuse us for not writing on our blog in such a long time. You were justified in your criticisms like this one:

WHY HAVE YOU NOT UPDATED YOUR WEBSITE!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You’re such a snorton norton.

You are right. I am being a total snorton norton. We (as in the royal We meaning Daniel in this case) have been really slack. Ashley has been asking for a post with pictures from Easter, and I will get to that shortly. Of course, Taylor, you, like other readers of this blog, have already seen the pictures because we uploaded them to ofoto. That doesn’t mean that I should make writing a post a lower priority.

So, besides now, I will update this blog soon. (Does this count as an update by the way?)

nice sunny day for a walk to work

December 20th, 2005

Of course it’s 22 outside (10 if you count wind chill) and we live 2 1/2 miles from my office. You might be wondering why I would attempt something that many of you in the South would consider borderline lunacy instead of just taking the subway (the good, old reliable subway.)

Well, because there is no subway today. Local 100 of the Transport Workers Union is on strike. Read more about the whats, whys, and hows here – CNN.com article

watch what you say

August 29th, 2005

OK, I’ll admit it… I think there is something to be said for the concept of karma. Well, it’s more that I believe sometimes what you say will come back to you. It’s like the stories of people who find a genie in a bottle, make a wish, and then find that what they receive is more than they anticipated. (moral: Careful what you wish for…. yada yada)

This weekend while we were in Atlanta, I complained about the fact that I have to ride the elevator everyday. I didn’t just say it once… I think I said it to everyone I ran into. So, I get to work this morning, and guess what… the elevator’s busted, sucka! My options are walk up the stairs or walk down to 9th Avenue and take the elevators at the back of the building.

As self-punishment, I chose the stairs… I walk up the 7 floors to my office and find that, lo’ and behold, the door to my floor is locked. Locked! So, I walk back down 7 floors, down a block (a city block goes on forever)… did I mention it’s 85 and humid… and then I have to take the back elevators. That will teach me. No more complaining about the elevators.

Ode to the guy in Starbucks at Maiden and Pearl

July 6th, 2005

You know who you are…
Next time you enter Starbucks, you better take a good look around and make sure I’m not there. If you spill coffee on someone, at least say you’re sorry.

Starbucks jerk haiku:

you rush for coffee
check yourself corporate oaf
it is my turn now
