Seattle and Orcas Island

August 22nd, 2006

We just got back from a wonderful vacation in Seattle and Orcas Island. Here’s a quick trip photo montage for those of you who are interested. Click “Read More” for the rest of the pics.

We started the trip by exploring Seattle. This included visiting Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Seattle Center (w/ the Space Needle,) shopping at Nordstroms, and a couple hours at Pike’s Place Market where Starbucks got its start. We also spent a couple hours in the flagship REI where we bought lots of fun gear. We miss REI around here!

We then went for a day trip to Mt. Rainer and hiked a quarter of the way to the top as the fog rolled in. For most of the hike up, you could not see 20 yards ahead.

We then headed to Orcas Island for a relaxing weekend at the Rosario Resort. Our room had a majestic view of East Sound.
