Bronx Zoo - May 2006

Ashley and I went to the Bronx Zoo yesterday, and I played around with our 400mm lens. I didn’t think I would be able to get good pictures without a tripod, but as you can see, the pictures turned out great. It helps that it was broad daylight.
Here is the rest of the photoset.
Ashley’s a golfer

Since I have a two week hiatus from traveling, Daniel and I are taking advantage off all the New York has to offer in the spring. Thursday we went to Chelsea Piers (www.chelseapiers.com) to hit golf balls. My goal was a nice sweet contact with the ball and Daniel was focusing on a straight flight path. My lower back, wrists and shoulders are still sore, not to mention the palm of my right hand! Now I know why real golfers wear a glove. Maybe I will be a REAL golfer if I get a glove (I wonder if they come in pink). Everyone knows how I love sports accessories! Anyway, we took a mini video of my swing for my dad to analyze – feel free to post your comments dad! But for all of you who just see the above picture, my swing is GREAT! Look out Michelle Wie, I hear my second calling!

I’ve added a button in my sidebar titled “Save The Internet” and you might be wondering why. Recently, several large ISPs have started a pushed for a tiered Internet. Basically, they want to degrade service to websites unless those sites pay for better connections. This way they deliver their most reliable connections to their partners and exclusive services to the detriment of competitors. So, a movement has started to push for Internet Neutrality. You can read about it at the savetheinternet.com FAQ.
So, sign the petition and notify your congressional representative.

I need to make a confession… I’m a huge Apple tech nerd. I’m sure that comes as a complete shock to everyone who reads this blog. And recently, there was an epic event in the Apple nerd world – the opening of the new 5th Avenue Apple Store. Here is a picture of the “Cube” from across the street.
I have a whole lot more pictures here on Flickr.com.
Update to Task Manager

I have made a recent update to my task manager app. I’ve changed some of the interactivity of the site. However, not everything is working correctly in Internet Explorer… but everyone should be using Firefox by now anyway
update 5/8 @ 8:21 pm – OK, I figured out the issue with Internet Explorer. It is very picky about the Javascript syntax, so it was breaking although Firefox wasn’t. It’s fixed now, however it’s still better to use Firefox… trust me.
Why don’t you ever write?

No, that’s not me asking you. That’s you asking us when you stop by this site. You think… “didn’t I see that same post last week? Is nothing going on in the lives of the New York Nortons?” But you’ve talked to one of us lately, and we certainly have stuff going on. You didn’t ask us to blog about it either because you don’t want to be rude or you really would prefer not to read about something that you just talked to us about. But for your sanity and ours, here’s a quick rundown of what’s been happening to the NYC Nortons.
1. Ashley’s on a project in Charlotte.
2. I (Daniel) went to see JJ Abram speak at the Tribeca Film Festival this week. Very exciting. I’ll give you the details if you want.
3. I have been working on some side web development. I wrote a time tracker to keep track of all the tasks I have going on in a day. Feel free to use it and provide any feedback you have. It’s still a work in progress, but it has AJAX which is the new buzz word in web development.
4. We have been to four weddings this spring which means frequent trips to Atlanta.
5. It’s getting warm in New York. Everything is in bloom, and suddenly there are people on the streets again.
6. Lost was great this week! Did anyone else see it? What did you think?
