Mom’s Surprise Party

September 29th, 2005

Ashley and I flew to Savannah last weekend to surprise Mom for her birthday. Grammy and Mr. Leitch planned an oyster roast at the Savannah Yacht Club, and they pulled it off perfectly. Uncle Jim and Aunt Dorothy went out of their way to get my brothers down to Savannah for the party. Uncle Jim rented a car for them, and Aunt Dorothy got them a hotel room. It was an incredible gesture. In fact, Mom said that it meant so much that all three of us were there.

I took this picture just as she walked in the room.

  • Renee,

I have some more pictures that I would be glad to share with you. If you drop me an email, I can send you an invite to the photo album online.

The surprise came off so well and the fact that Denise truly was surprised by all of those who came. Pam coming from California and a friend she had not seen since they were 11 also some PHS friends. All in all a good time. The best part is that Deni is a wonderful daughter and someone I love very much.

    Hi Daniel and Ashley,

Great wesite or blog - whatever. Daniel, I have almost the same picture of your Mom. Yours is better though.

    It was a great party.

    Love,

    Aunt Dorothy

I went to high school with your mom and, unfortunately, wasn't able to make it to her party. I heard from my friend Jenny that everyone had a great time and that you have a fantastic family -- I wasn't surprised a bit! Thanks for sharing the picture (via your grandmother) -- it's a great shot of your mom...
