My work building is so secure that you are forced through a card accessed turn style into an elevator to zoom up 34 floors. They aren't kidding about the alarm sounding if you open the stairwell door either. Apparently 1 of the 4 stairwells in my building is better than the others...so I investigated. BEEP!!!!! At our apartment you can take the stairs but the motion lights don't always work. At least you have the option to take the stairs.
