From the roof of our apartment building, we have a 360 degree view of the East River as well as lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. On a clear day, you can see the ocean beyond Coney Island to the east and the mountains of the Adirondacks to the west. On the Fourth of July, hundreds of people from the apartment crammed onto the roof to watch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, and the show was amazing.
